Recently, the list of selected talents for the 2023 Science and Technology Innovation Talent Promotion Plan in the Transportation Industry was announced, with the team Professor Mi’an Xue being selected as a leading talent in science and technology innovation by the Ministry of Transportation.
Professor Mi’an Xue, serving as the Party Secretary and Director of the Institute of Offshore Engineering Equipment at the College of Harbor, Coastal, and Offshore Engineering, Hohai University, and the head of the Ship and Ocean Engineering discipline, has long been engaged in the research of the mechanism and key technologies for the control and utilization of liquid tank sloshing, the design of photovoltaic support structures for offshore and their wave-damping technologies, and computational hydrodynamics in marine engineering. He was selected for the national youth talent program and has presided over 24 projects including the National Natural Science Foundation and national key R&D program topics. He has published 2 academic monographs, more than 60 papers, holds 20 authorized patents and software copyrights, and has received awards such as the Sichuan Province Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award, the Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Research Achievements in Higher Education Institutions of Jiangsu Province, and the First Prize for Teaching Achievements in Hydraulics-related Disciplines in Higher Education Institutions. He also serves as a member of the Ship Mechanics Committee of the China Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, the Marine Energy Committee of the China Energy Research Society, and on the editorial boards of several journals including the Journal of Hydrodynamics, Modern Subsea Engineering and Technology, and Advances in Hydrodynamics.
